Official UPSC Prelims – Marking Scheme

Aspirants can know their Approximate Marks in the UPSC Preliminary Exam with the help of the UPSC Answer Key as per the official marking scheme decided by the Union Public Service Commission. The UPSC CSE Prelims consists of a total of 400 marks – 200 marks for both Papers 1 (GS) & 2 (CSAT) scoring 2 marks for the correct answer in GS Paper-1 & 2.5 marks in Paper-2 (CSAT). There is a penalty of 1/3rd of the correct marks for each incorrect answer. The marking scheme is given below:
