The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts the West Bengal Civil Services (WBCS) examination every year to select and appoint candidates for various posts in the administrative offices and departments in the state of West Bengal.

Preliminary Examination

  • The paper will be of an objective type consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions.
  • The paper will carry 200 marks.
  • The exam will be of 2½ hours duration.

Main Examination

  • The Main Examination shall consist of six compulsory papers and one optional subject consisting of two papers.
  • There will be two papers on the optional subject of 200 marks each.
  • Each paper will carry 200 marks and will be of 3 hours duration.
  • A number of candidates to be selected on the results of the Preliminary Examination will be allowed admission to the Main Examination.
  • A number of candidates to be selected on the results of the Main Examination will be called to appear at the Personality Test

Detailed Syllabus of Mains Exam:

Paper I Syllabus:

Paper III Syllabus:

Environment Syllabus will consist of the following topics:

Paper V Syllabus:

The Constitution of India and Indian Economy including role and functions of the Reserve Bank of India.

Indian Economy including role and functions of the Reserve Bank of India Syllabus will be of following topics:

  • Central State relation and devolution of central funds to state,
  • Planning process and objectives of five years plan,
  • Functions of RBI and Monetary policy,
  • Central Finance Commission & State Finance Commission
  • Fiscal Policy of Government of India.

Paper VI Syllabus:

Reasoning questions will be asked from following topics:

Arithmetic Questions will be similar to that of the Compulsory Mathematics paper at the Madhyamik Examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must have completed the graduation or any other equivalent three years degree from a recognized University.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali
  • The lower age limit should be 21 years,
  • The Upper age limit should be 36 years for Group A, B & C, 39 years for Group D
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to the SC, ST, OBC, Physically Handicapped (PH), Ex-serviceman Govt Employees (Central and States) candidates.
  • Age will be calculated on 1st January of the year of the Exam.

For PHARMACIST GRADE-III / PHARMACIST-CUM-SALESMAN-GRADE-III

  • Passed Higher Secondary Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology and a two-year Diploma Course in Pharmacy recognized by the Government of West Bengal and registered as ‘A’ category Pharmacist under West Bengal Pharmacy Council.
  • The age of the candidates should not be more than 39 years on 01.01.2021 with relaxation as per Govt.

The aspirants can apply for the WBPSC recruitment 2022 online on the official website of WBPSC. The candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the APPSC exam 2022. The WBPSC Application Process is discussed below in detail.

How to Fill the WBPSC 2022 Application Form?

Below given are the steps to be followed in order to apply for the WBPSC 2022 exam:

  • The candidates will require a valid email id, contact details while filling the examination form.
  • After filling in all the essential details, you will have to “submit” the application form.
  • Once the application form is submitted you will get your login credentials on your registered email id.
  • Now the candidate has to log in with the credentials given to them in order to fill the rest of the application form.
  • The candidate can check the required eligibility criteria and fill in all the personal and educational details as per the requirements.
  • Confirm your details and click on “save and next”.
  • The candidates can now attach their passport size photograph and their signature in the prescribed format.
  • The candidates can attach their mark sheet and the documents required

WBPSC 2022 Application Fees

The candidates need to pay the application fees for the WBPSC Recruitment application process. The SC/ST candidates of West Bengal State and Persons with disabilities (40% and above) having a physical disability are not required to pay any application fee.
